Miner Institute’s annual Crop Congress meeting will be held Wednesday, January 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Joseph C. Burke Education and Research Center, 586 Ridge Road, Chazy. This meeting is free and open to the public.
Mike Hunter from Cornell University Cooperative Extension will give a talk on Herbicide Resistance Management; Warren Schneckenberger from Cedar Lodge Farms in Morrisburg, Ontario will give a talk on Soil Compaction Management; Dr. Gary Bergstrom from Cornell University will give an update on field crop diseases; Joe Lawrence from Cornell University’s PRODAIRY will give a report on the 2019 corn silage variety trial; Dan Digiacomandrea from Bayer will give a Dicamba applicator training; and Dr. Kitty O’Neil from Cornell University Cooperative Extension will moderate a farmer panel on conservation tillage practices.
The meeting has been approved for NYS DEC Pesticide and CCA credits. Participants must arrive on time and stay for the entire program to receive credits. There are 2.0 NYS DEC Pesticide Credits (categories 1A, 10, 21, 23) approved and 2.0 Vermont Pesticide Applicator Credits approved.
Crop Congress is organized in collaboration with Cornell Cooperative Extension. Pre-registration is encouraged. Attendees can network with vendors before the meeting from 9 to 10 a.m. Lunch is available for $5 per person.
