The second not-quite-annual Chili Cook-Off at Malone’s American Legion Post 219 will be 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25.
Amateur “chefs” can sign up beginning February 1 at the Legion Post, corner of Elm and Morton streets, with a deadline of February 15.
There is a $5 entry fee. There will be two cash awards, one decided by a team of judges and the other based on a popular vote. Judges will consider aroma, texture, taste, heat/spiciness, and “after-taste.”
Competitors are asked to prepare a large crock-pot of their favorite chili recipe for the cook-off.
