A warm start to the month may slow the leaf-peeping business this year. Foliage reports for Vermont and Maine were mostly green last week. And here in the North Country, we’re just starting to see the leaves get a little more colorful. According to the online guides, color is about at midpoint in transition in Franklin County, especially near Tupper Lake and Mt. Arab. But other reporting stations in the Adirondacks are still at less than 10% color change. We could hit peak over the next few weeks. This time last year, northern Maine was already approaching peak. The good news…the relatively dry weather we’ve had should mean colors are vibrant.
